A Hux redemption could perhaps work if there was enough thought put into it, but here it's just "Hux is alive and married to Rose and we're not going to explain why or how."

It honestly feels like the author wants to skip through certain parts of the story - particularly Rey bonding with her kids, even though that could be really interesting and heartbreaking if done well.
